Perfect Conditions and Eager Steelhead

Gina and her husband stayed at the Miner's Cabin for a few days to celebrate her birthday and fly fish for steelhead.  They were not disappointed!  We had heavy rains just prior to their arrival that bumped the river up a bit.  By the time they got on the river it had come down to a perfect steelhead green and the fish were biting. She caught five fish in one float with the guide, including one beautiful 10lb. wild beauty.  After enjoying a day in a driftboat with a guide, they did some fishing from the bank right at the cabin.  Multiple fish were landed from the property including a very nice one from the riffle that begins right off the back patio of the Miner's Cabin.  The Trinity has been quite productive this year, and we are still getting into winter steelhead season.  This promises to be one of those years that the fishing stays strong right up until spring.  We hope to see you on the river!

Trinity River winter steelhead and brown trout fishing has been fantastic and only looks to improve this week.
