Get Outside and Play!!!

With so much to do in the surrounding area, you are sure to find activities and experiences that will make your trip a memorable one.  From hiking, biking, rafting, kayaking, SUPing, fishing, birding, and more, to just sitting and relaxing while you take it all in, you are certain to enjoy this outdoor paradise.

Kayak, Raft, SUP

If you are interested in renting kayaks or SUPs, or being a part of a guided trip on the Trinity or nearby Lewiston Lake, get in touch with Steph and Heidi.  (530) 778-3444.
These two are friends and highly recommended.  Their experience on the water and stories they have to share are absolutely second to none.  They offer lessons, guided trips, and rentals.  Best of all, they are right around the corner from the cabins.

Hiking

The majestic Trinity Alps Wilderness is accessible within a half hour of the cabins.  Featuring an expansive network of trails, the Trinity Alps feature some amazing fishing for wild trout and as much serenity and natural beauty as one can expect to find anywhere.  Check the link for more information.           Trinity Alps Wilderness

Nearby Trinity and Lewiston Lakes also feature a wonderful network of trails for a less strenuous, yet equally beautiful experience when compared to the Alps.   Trinity and Lewiston Lake Trails

Birding

The number of both migratory and resident birds to be found near the river is astounding.  One guest recently counted nearly 30 different species in one morning kayaking on nearby Lewiston lake.  Eagles, hawks, vultures, ravens, crows, osprey, turkeys, quail, migratory waterfowl, tanager, bluebirds, hummingbirds, grosbeak, jays, woodpeckers (including Pileated), kingfisher, owls, and the ouzel (John Muir's favorite) are all found in the area.  Check the links for an overview and checklist of birds that might be sighted.
